When we speak of a devotional, we are referring to a time in the day
when we focus all our attention on God. In this devotional time we can do many
things, such as listening to songs that praise God, and sing to Him, it is also
a time when we pray, since it is a time to open our hearts to God, where we
comment on how grateful we are with Him, but also where we can tell Him the
things that bother us, our sadness, our frustrations, the problems we are
facing. It is also a time to ask the Lord, that is a time of requests, to tell Him of our needs,
those of our family of our country, among others. During this devotional time
we also read the bible it can be to read an entire chapter or a verse and
meditate on this word. At this time it is important to have a notebook that
would be like a diary where we can write the reading of the Bible and what we
reflect on it. All these steps are not obligatory, and you do not have to do
them all strictly in order, nor do you follow all these steps every day, many
times our state of mind can change and there are times that suddenly we would
like to sing to God and not so much read the Bible, or the prayer doesn't flow
much. But something that is very important, is to try as much as possible to be
constant in doing it, since it is our way of strengthening ourselves in God and
maintaining our communion with Him. Finally, the most important thing at this
time is to be transparent with God. As we know, God knows everything, and
speaking to God with our hearts shows him how much we trust him. I want to
share this verse with you in Philippians 2:13 for it is God who is at work in
you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
